a unique wedding

This morning I came across some simply exquisite inspiration on

(what a surprise). For three years, we lived in the high desert east of Lake Tahoe, and I never would have thought that such a landscape could inspire a wedding. Newsflash: I was wrong. The photos taken by

capture the muted golds and dusty browns of the featured wedding and its location, Joshua Tree.

Sonja, the beautiful bride, is the founder of

Unique LA

. We were a vendor at her holiday event a couple of years ago, which made coming across this little slice of design heaven even more special! From the archives: Check out this video of Unique LA's holiday show by

and go to minute 3:02. You may or may not find a vintage shot of the gF girls selling their wares...

Back to the wedding: Check out the hand-painted sign, a gift by artist

Keith Scharwath

, which now hangs over the couple's front door.

Guests received custom bags and and fans with the arrow design element and the message featured in Keith's sign. Sonja used really simple fonts and icons to dress up the design details.

I love the symbolism: simple design mirrors the sparse landscape, allowing us to focus on what really matters - the couple! Sonja planned the wedding herself, enlisting the help of friends. Check out the
